First we would like to thank you for expressing interest in this dance team. We were a registered Venture Crew of the Boy Scouts of America. A Venture Crew is run a lot like a regular Boy Scout troop however Venture Crews have both male and female members.

Just like a Boy Scout troop we had meetings and went on trips. We met every third Sunday of the month. During the meetings we went over our plans for future trips, worked on our dances and learned new techniques for our outfits. Many of the dancers are award winners in both their dance and craft categories. We’ve also had three princesses who were chosen to represent an outside organization. We attended a Powwow once a month to further educate ourselves in both contemporary and traditional Native American culture. We traveled all the way to Western Penn., Maryland, New Jersey, upstate NY and even Massachusetts. We even went to an International Jamboree in Stoney Creek, Canada.

However, the traveling and equipment costs money, so throughout the year we did shows for Cub Scout packs and community events to raise money. There would be anywhere from one to eight shows a month and will usually occur on a Friday or Saturday. Our busiest months are November, February and March.
